Still Sleep Deprived

Sunday morning I woke around 2:00 am and couldn't sleep so I decided to bake some cookies for all the primary kids. I baked over 100 cookies!!! During singing time I pretended like I was making cookies . If they sang our practice songs good then I put in the correct ingredients. If it wasn't so good then I put in mustard or syrup. They were so mad the first time I added a bad ingredient. At the end I said that I was going to go bake them during sharing time. Then I brought out my traays of cookies I had previously baked for them to enjoy. I got the idea off the internet.... I do not take credit for the idea at all. I really don't know what I would do without every one else's ideas online for me to use. I've had this calling as Primary Chorister before but it seemed easier back then. I really wonder though because I had a three year old toddler and a newborn baby. I'm sure the size made a difference. Oh well... I must not have learned everything I needed to learn because I am here again trying to teach 100 kids new songs. I still don't know all their names.
Well... today Corey went with Megans 1st grade class on a field trip to the Fleet Science Center at Balboa Park. Megan kept saying over and over again how this was going to be the best day of her life. Spending time with your kids sure makes their day! Megan will never forget today I am sure. :-) It is so wonderful that Corey was able to take a day off of work to go. We are truly blessed!

Soccer! Soccer! Soccer!

Sydney and Megan have been playing soccer for several weeks now. Sydney's team name is the"Hot Shots" and Megan's team name is the "Gladiators". Both teams practice for an hour twice a week and then play a game every Saturday morning. The Gladiators are undefeated and the Hot Shots are well... trying to win. But they are all having a great time no matter what.

Skating and Icecream

Corey and I went rollerblading on our date last night. We skated hand and hand just like our cheesy wedding video. It reminded us both of all the skating we did in our younger years as we were dating too. Some of our funnest dates were spent rollerblading all over the place. :-) We were in Solana Beach. We ate a picnic on a beautiful spot of grass over looking the ocean right below us. It was beautiful and of course very romantic.
At the end of our date we picked up Alisa at the Coaster right there in Solana Beach. It so so awesome to have her come visit. She took us to Cold Stone and treated us to some delicious icecream! I chose french vanilla, butterfinger, and caramel. Corey chose french vanilla, peanut butter cup and brownie. Alisa chose her favorite peanut butter and chocolate icecream. She always makes it so we have tons of fun and she is always there to help in times of need. For instance, Corey had to work all day today. The girls had soccer games scheduled. I had to finish the banner that I volunteered to make for Syds team and I had to put together a snack for halftime and after the game for Megs team. All this before 10:oo am. It was a good thing Alisa was here. She saved me from tons of stress just being there to do anything I asked her to do. Thanks Alisa for being so great!

Beautiful World

Our family played at Balboa Park yesterday. We had tons of fun playing freeze tag around the playground toys and beautiful green trees. We grilled some hot dogs and warmed up some pork-n-beans. It was a little family night before the girls had to be at Girl Scout chorus practice. They have been learning new songs for about four weeks now. They will be singing in several different special scout meetings involved through the San Diego Council. It's been a great experience.
This morning I was reflecting on the beauty of life and this wonderful world that we live in! Madison constantly reminds me of how precious the sweet moments in life are. She loves makeup and when she can get a hold of some she is sure to use it as much as possible to the extent of way too much!!! I had just caught her holding my lip gloss before she was able to do any damage with it. She wanted me to put it on her fingernials like it was polish... but I told her it was for the lips. She got very excited and so I put some on her lips. She jumped for joy and giggled and was so happy because of that little moment. She then ran around singing her ABC's in a very happy mood. So... as I sat and reflected on that I just thought of how wonderful a childs mind is to get so happy over the littlest things. I should be excited to put on my lip gloss... I should be giggly and and happy to be alive. Life is such a beautful thing. This is such a beautfiul world in which we live!
